About the Choir

Chorale In Harmony Choir is a lesbian-founded choir that has been a part of Ottawa’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community since 1991! We operate as a feminist collective and have been dedicated to performing music that reflects the richness and diversity of women’s experience over our 35-year history.

The Choir welcomes queer singers and friends/allies who enjoy singing, laughing and learning music in an informal atmosphere. We use an inclusive definition of “woman”; we welcome trans women, cis women, and non-binary people as well as trans men with treble voices.

Sing with us…

We are a non-audition choir! Members are required to be able to carry a tune and to sing in a treble vocal range (Soprano or Alto). We are a performance-focused choir; we expect singers to participate in at least one annual concert; members may also perform at extra performances/gigs throughout the season.

Our rehearsals take place each Tuesday evenings; our main rehearsal time is 7:00 – 8:30pm. We meet in a Centretown location that is fully accessible. Our season runs from September to June, with a summer break in July & August.
